So I fell off of the wagon...

Ok, so I fell off of the, "I will get better at blogging" wagon. Sue me.

I have been busy knitting and other things.
Let's see I have knit a scarf, started a shawl, almost finished a pair of socks, my first!

I have joined the mystery sock knit-along.
Thought about sock wars, but I don't knit that fast, and as I have only knit one pair of socks, I would loose in about 3 days.

I have 2 more 2-week class and I am an official graduate of the University of Phoenix.

I am still looking for another job, I really dislike looking for another job, but I really dislike being treated as if I have no brain cells too. So, onward to another job.

Not much else going on here just trying to keep out of trouble, which isn't easy to do with a couple of kids.

Trying to get better...

I really am trying to get better at blogging lately. I have been busy with school, and work. Let me try to catch you up.

School

School has been trying. I have 3 more months to go, and I am finished. 2 1/2 classes left to go, I am ecstatic. I have been struggling to find time to get homework done, but I have been able to manage.

Work

Work is a whole different ball of wax. My immediate supervisor left for greener pastures. I am really happy for her. The problem is she was the one who administered all of our GIS data. Now that is up to me and the DBA who really isn’t our DBA, he works for other departments. My boss (the big guy) just manages him.

I have been given quite a few more jobs to do since my boss left, and not being compensated for it. I know, I should leave or demand a raise. 1) Asked for a raise, the check is in the mail. 2) The experience I am gaining will help me find another job. 3) I am looking for another job.

Just before my boss gave notice, the head boss, notified me that I shouldn’t get too comfortable, as there was no future for me here. Well, I guess I have been told. So I am trying to soak up as much as I can in order to get more knowledge. Know this, I won’t be dealing with that man’s attitude for much longer, I really can last much longer.

There have been several times when he has insinuated I either, a) don’t have the brain capacity to absorb what Shawna was describing to him; unbeknownst to him she was describing my current job duties. Needless to say he had egg on his face when he was informed that is what I do for 2 out of 4 weeks during the month. b) Can’t handle a technical duty; which is the reason he will not be giving me a larger raise; the first of which I haven’t received.

Now that Shawna is gone, he has discovered that not only do I have a brain, but I am also capable of completing more technical duties.

So that is part of the reason I haven’t been posting.

Knitting

I have been knitting. I have finished a dishrag for my swap partner.

I have started the Menorah Pillow from handknit Holidays. It's for my husband's doctor, who is a wonderfully patient man. I am on row 37, and if I do say so myself, I am proud. It looks good. Nope no pictures, sorry.

I also knit a small lace neck scarf for a friend that recently had shoulder surgery. She broke her shoulder after going ass over tea kettle over the handlebars of a motorcycle.

Word of advice to all those that don’t know how to ride a bike, me included:
If You Don’t Know How To Ride, Stay Under 25 MPH!

Well that is all of the news I have for now. I will try to get on again before the next century.

I have no excuses, it is just life.
I have been knitting. Let me see if I can list all of the things I have been doing.
I finished a leaf lace shawl.
Please excuse the poor quality, I took these pictures with my camera phone.

I also finished a water bottle holder for my husband, which was completed in crochet, not knit. I wanted to see if I could do it. Guess what? I did. No pictures, but you expect that from me. I made it in blue, since anything in pink is a no go for him :D. The pattern can be found here. Dot has wonderful patterns. I even made a worm, granted it wasn't the best attempt at crochet, so you won't see any pictures of that anytime soon. The kids liked it though, which is all that really matters in the grand scheme of things.

I also finished a KARAOKE CABLE SCARF in KnitPicks Sierra. The color was cranberry. It was given away so fast I wasn't able to get a picture. The recipient was very pleased with the scarf, so it made my day.

I have been accepted to the DishclothsRUs Yahoo group. This is a closed group. I was patiently on the list, and I was accepted. Yay! This is a wonderful group of people. I am very happy to have been accepted.

School is the pits. Not because it is school, but because it is causing me to stress. My wonderful counselors have informed me that in order to graduate I must produce $2300 dollars to them. Well that wouldn't be a problem if I had a job that was paying me a decent wage, but the reason I am at this job is so that I can complete school. See the catch-22 here? Needless to say I am frustrated. It will all work out, but in the meantime I am stressing. I only have 4 classes left. I just want to get it done. I need a break where I don't have to worry about getting assignments done and turned in.

Well, that is not a complete list of what is going on in my life, I think it is enough for now. I will try to get on here more often, but time, and life, will tell.

Yes it has been that type of break. More school, more stress.

Well now that we have established that, how the heck have you been?

I have been busy with school. Very busy.
My boss has been sick, she has a heart condition, and I have been worrying about her. The boys...The boys....They are going through a phase. I can handle it, daddy can handle it. The boys may not survive.

I have been knitting. No I don't have pictures again. Why you may ask, because my husband still hasn't found the cable. I am going to be forced to buy another one, I just don't really want to spend the money.

Let me get to the knitting.
I have completed this hat for my husband. He loves it, and I only made minor mistakes as far as I can tell. I did miss an eye, so he has one blind moose. I purchased the kit from beaellisknitware.com, and it was a truly fun knit.

I also finished Liesel . I did enjoy this as well. I have to say the finished product looks a lot like the photo.

I broke down and became a follower. I have joined the knitting olympics from the yarn harlot. I am going to knit Pafuglehale, forgive the lack of proper danish spelling.

I don't know if I will finish, but I am going to give it the old College try.
Well I guess that is all I have for now, but I will not be away so long next time. Promise!

Merry Christmas

Ok, yes, I have not been blogging. I have been knitting, but due to the fact that my husband had misplaced, he says it isn't lost, the cable that loads the pictures from the camera to the computer, I have no pictures.

I can tell you I finished this scarf. I was inspired by the fact my husband wanted a scarf. Caitlyn just happened to have it on her blog, and my husband liked it. Only problem it is much to thin for him, but he likes it anyway, which is all that matters.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. I stayed home and did nothing, except cook, which really isn't a hardship. That was a wonderful feeling. I haven't done that in much too long. I can't wait to be out of school. Then I can do nothing, or as close to nothing as a 4 and 5 year old will allow.

Well I am off to work and I will try to post more often.

Missing in action

Yesterday was a very bad day.
I woke up, as I usually do, ready to start my day.
I fell over in intense pain. I have the mother of all migraines.
I figured, I can do it! I can drive, HAHA (Not!), and go to work.

Guess what?

I couldn't even get out of bed.

It was an all day ordeal of trying to get over this migraine. 3 Imitrex nasal sprays later, taken during the course of the day, and 3 Excedrin it is tolerable.

I still have it today, not like yesterday, but it is there hovering in the background waiting for me to let my guard down. As soon as I do, it will pounce. I know it, I can feel it just on the outer edges of my temples waiting to come alive again.

If you don't see me for a couple of days, you know why. I am still doing battle with the beast in my brain.

If I stayed off of my computer, I wouldn't find more patterns. But alas, I have to use the computer for work and school, so I am forced :D to find new patterns. See how I snuck that in there/ Quite clever if I do say so myself.

Anyway, this is what I have found. A new bag pattern, and a shrug pattern that my boss loves. Now I just have to find the time to knit the shrug for her. I told her as long as I have a job, I will keep knitting for her :D. I think that is a wonderful compromise.

Thanksgiving and a long Holiday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
We at the Jones household had turkey, dressing (cornbread of course), homemade cranberry sauce, hand mashed potatoes (ok, I used a hand mixer), green beans (fresh out of the can :D), rolls, and a sweet potato pie.

I think that was more than enough food. We actually had more than we could eat so a few extra people were the happy recipients of a Thanksgiving dinner. It is nice to be able to share with others. It is an affirmation of what we have to be thankful for. Although life isn't perfect and we may not have everything we want, we have what we need.

Well on to knitting. I have done some. Not much, as I have started an SQL class. I must read, as I do not know SQL. I am finishing a "My So Called Scarf". Slated to be another gift for someone on Christmas. I am also closing out the middle of the third pattern of the mystery shawl. The recipient would better use a shoulder shawl than a full length shawl. When I have finished it out and have it blocking I will take pictures.

Well off to working again. Wish me luck tonight. It is time to go to battle with the husbands physician. Why is it they can never make mistakes, but when you point it out to them it is still your fault in some way? Well I am not standing still for it today. Like I said wish me luck, we may end up looking for another physician.

My weekend was Wonderful!

Shawna and I, that is my boss for those that don't know, went to see Joyce Meyer on Saturday. It was wonderful. You know when you can feel a breakthrough is coming in your life and you have a choice to follow the righteous path or the one of your choosing? Well I have a path to follow, and it isn't easy, but then again if it were easy, would it be God?

Well I have to get back to work.

I Love Winter!

I really, really love winter. I much prefer the cold and the rain. I know many people would like the sun all year long, but this is my favorite time of the year.

Did you know they are going to add a month to daylight savings time? I don't like that, not that anyone asked my opinion.

Not much went on this weekend. I had an art show. I didn't tell you I am embarking on a new endeavor, not that I need anymore action items right now. Just call me a glutton for punishment. I am an art consultant for Ethnic Expressions.

Art for the mind and soul. I really have to find some time to update my side bar. I have links to other blogs I need to put up as well as some other things. One thing at time.

I have to check in at school, produce some work, so I can continue to get paid, and get my son's homeschool work together first.

So much to do so little time.

On the rain?
Well it hasn't rained in awhile...
Well I guess you can blame it on me.

I was the one that did it...
I bought it...
And it came in the mail yesterday!

Ok I will tell you what it is.
I bought these.

This is not a very good picture, and to tell the truth you can blame Snow, because it was her post that pushed me over the edge.

So now I have the Wings of Fantasy Shawl pattern, Violets by the River, and the Tiger Eye patterns.

Now if I only had the knitting time. One day I will have the time to knit as much as I want. No homework, no distraction. Gee, sounds like I might be dead. Oh well what would life be like without distractions?

As Promised

This must be some kind of a record for me. Well as I promised here are the pictures of my Secret Pal gift.

First up we have some Wonderful soap. I had to beat my husband off of it. It has goat milk, and honey and Almonds. Mmmm, now the kids want more baths.
I also received a set of double pointed needles, with a removable stitch marker contained in a blue double pointed needle holder shaped like a sweater.

Next is some wonderful sock yarn. I am going to have to get off of my butt an just knit some socks. I really don't have any excuses, fear?

Here is a picture of the whole shebang. It really should have gone on top, but you get the idea.
There is also a pattern for socks, really no excuse now, and a wonderful candle. My family seems to think all of the packages belong to them now. I think they need to learn how to knit, don't you?

Knit Bits. What knitter can do without the daily word from other janitor's? This is wonderful. Yes, I opened it already. No, I didn't read all of them, just a few....It's almost 2006.

Last, but certainly not least, these stitch markers. Aren't they just to die for? They are blown, if I am not mistaken, at any rate you can't buy these in any ol' store, no sirree bob. I am truly touched.

Thank you Secret Pal. I have been lax on my blog updating lately, but I really am trying not to fail this bloody class again. I am scheduling this sucker out. I will try to get a post up at least once a week.

Time ticks away

It has been much to long since I last posted. I am really sorry about that.

I have been stressing, which doesn't help my migraines. So needles to say I have been having more. I have been to the doctor, and he has given me some medicine, that actually seems to be helping some.

While I was away I had a birthday. October the 9th.

I have failed, yes you heard that correctly, failed the first class ever.
The first in all of my years of going to school. Oh well I guess there is a first time for everything.

On the knitting front, I have decided to just do the mystery shawl. I have been putting it off, but I needed something to do that wasn't going to strain my already tired and stressed out brain. I am on clue 2. I will try to get some pictures posted, but we all know how I have been on that lately. Don't hold your breath, because I don't want to be responsible for you passing out.

My secret pal sent me a truly wonderful e-card. I just want to say Thank You! It lifted my spirits and made my day.

I think our UPS man is getting very upset with us. We have had so many deliveries in the last week, well lets just say I feel we have a relationship. We are homeschooling our boys, well technically just Master C at the moment. So we have been receiving boxes upon boxes of school supplies. Books and books and even more books. The child is truly excited. It is great to see his face light up because a book arrived just for him. Well this has truly cut down on my knitting time, but it is worth it. He is so very excited to be in school, and we have better control over what he is taught and how.

Headaches still here,it was especially bad today. I was rudely awakened by a migraine at 2 am this morning, yes I have a Dr. Appointment scheduled, but not until Friday. I tried for today, no luck. I could call again for Wednesday, but all I want to do is go home and try to sleep for the rest of the week.

Secret Pal Strikes Again!

I love Secret Pal. The members are a wonderful group of people. Yesterday I received a package from my Pal. In it was tea, yummy, and a tea minuet. There was also a very nice note, no my headaches have not gone away completely, but I am managing.

I had to fight the boys for the tea and the cup. They feel if it is mom's it must also belong to them.

Besides the sky and the sun and the moon.
Well lots and lots of school. Sorry I have been absent of late. I have really bad cluster headaches once every couple of years for a couple of weeks on end. This just happens to be that time, wonderful.

If that were not enough, when I don't have cluster headaches, I get migraines. Well my genetic makeup being what it is, that really sucks. Oh and I found my first grey hair. That isn't so bad really. My grandmother had beautiful silver hair, so who knows maybe I will to one day.

I have been knitting, just haven't been taking pictures. I am really bad about the picture thing. I need to work on that.

Anyway knitting...
I have, since my last blogging expedition, completed two of the squatty sidekick bags. The first was completed in the Manos my wonderful SP5 Pal sent to me. Thanks again Caitlyn, and the second is in Noro, don't ask me what color, the band is at home. I will have to go home and look. At least I kept it, believe me it is not common. I have too much clutter with two small boys to keep the unnecessary things in live. Just enjoy it.

My children, if you want to know, are getting so smart. Master J informed me the other day that Master C was antagonizing him. Can you believe it? Then he covers his mouth with his hand, because even he knows he is full of bologna. You have to love them, well you don’t but I certainly do and I am enjoying every minute. I think I am slightly jealous of my husband, who gets to spend all day with them. Then I wake up, and realize things are great just the way they are LOL. They are after all boys, and they need their father around more at this age than they need me.

I have a job interview today, wish me luck. It isn’t for anything I really want to do, but if I get the job it will be full time permanent with benefits. That makes the job worth doing, even if it is only for a little while. It could be the foot in the door I need to transition to another county job.

Well that is about it in a nutshell. When I can steal some more time away from work and school, I will report back.

Knitting news

I have finally taken pictures of some if my knitting. Sorry for the delay, school has been consuming much of my time. I also have pictures of my boy and his lost tooth. Master C lost his first tooth last Friday.

On with the show:

And for the knitting content we have Coronet, two versions.

This on I finished about 2 or 3 weeks ago, just didn't put up the picture.

And the closeup. I used Brown Sheep Wool in Silver Silver. It didn't take a whole skein, and it is too big for the intended recipient. So I am going to give it to someone with a bigger head.

This one I made with one Skein of Noro Kureyon. I purchased way to much of this stuff. I bought it for my Boss, she decide she didn't want it, no biggie. I can always use a stash enhancement.

It is the perfect size for a child.

I think I am making these hats inside out. I believe you are supposed to be able to flip the edge up making the hat smaller. Mine never come out that way. Just the way it is. I still like then though.

Nothing snappy

I don't have a snappy title for this one. I have been watching the happenings in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. It breaks my heart to see the suffering of so many people. I have family from all of those areas; I am praying for them all.

Well once upon a time I promised pictures of my boys. I never put them on.
What reminded me you might ask, ok you might not, but I am going to assume you did ask. My oldest lost a tooth on Friday. I cried, not boo hoo, but you know teary eyed. It is a milestone in his growth.

Anyway, I have pictures I was supposed to post awhile ago so here they are.

3 skeins of Misti Alpaca Sport, it is being fondled as I write this :D. The color is MC-1026, the website says the color is called Red Fiesta Mélange, kind of a heathery reddish brown with yellow and blue dispersed throughout. It is really pretty.

I also received the Flower Basket Shawl pattern, Caitlyn was reading my mind, I have been lusting after this pattern. The Misti Alpaca will make a wonderful Flower Basket Shawl.

2 skeins of Manos del Uruguay, color number 49. It is a wonderful variegated pink. Oooh, Pretty!

Ohh Ohh another pattern! The Squatty Sidekick bag. Now I know the Manos is just for this.

Didn't I tell you Caitlyn was a wonderful Pal?! See...Well imagine anyway. You can see on Monday, unless I get some time between now and then to play with other picture posting options.

First on our list the Cobweb Shawl by Emma Crew. I made this with the Space Dyed Blue Face Leicester from Paradise Fibers.

I tried to take some pictures that showed off the pattern. I don't know if you can see it.

Now my lovely boss showing off the shawl for us outside. She wasn't feeling well this day, but she is a real Trooper!

Next on the list, Secret Pal. Unfortunately my husband has already downloaded those pictures to his computer. Now I have to go find them. Secret Pal, I haven't forgotten you. I do truly appreciate all you are doing, your efforts will be displayed for all to see, as soon as I figure out what my husband has done.

I thought I was going to get it done. Finally, I was going to present to you all pictures. I brought the camera to work, I even found the USB plug so I could download the images. What do I find when I plug the thing in?

Dead Batteries.

Am I having bad luck or what?

So tonight I will plug the camera in and maybe tomorrow you will get the long awaited pictures.

I have so much to show you.

1. Long lost pictures detailing my Secret Pal gifts.

2. The finished Shawl made with Space-Dyed Blue-faced Leicester from Paradise Fibers, in herb garden.

3. The markers from my Stitch Marker Pals.

4. The Stitch Markers my boss made for me.

5. Maybe pictures of my children, that is frightening, and the pictures of the Airport. Buchanan Field, which is in Concord. Why pictures of the airport you may ask, same reason we like pictures of yarn, my husband loves the airport, and so do our children. So why not, airport pictures too.

6. The destroyed Clapotis. I know you are dying to see the mis-dropped drop stitch.

7. My latest and greatest project. I know I stated I was going to start on something that did not require much thought. I just couldn't do it. So I started an Irish Hiking Scarf from Hello Yarn.

I have never in my life knit cables. They are fun, and I am not using a cable needle. I have read on numerous different blogs, no I don't have the link at the moment, I will have to look for them. The technique seemed easy enough, so I tried it. I am on the beginning of the fifth pattern repeat. I have achieved cables!! Yay for me.

I still have a bit of a headache, but I refuse to let it start stopping me now. Still no news about my husband and the FAA.

You know, I really shouldn't knit when I am stressed and am in possession of a migraine, or rather when it possess me. It is a really bad combination. Last Thursday I started a Clapotis, another Christmas present in the making. Today I am on the second dropped stitch, except, I dropped the wrong stitch. Somehow the markers moved over, and since I haven't the intelligence to pay attention to the stitches on the needle chart I have been following, I dropped it anyway.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Sigh, I guess I could always make something else. At this point, I am fed up.

Would you like to know why I am in such a state?
Well let me tell you.

The FAA ( Federal Aviation Administration ), has decided the best use of our Homeland Security money is to prosecute disabled pilots, many of whom cannot fly anymore. My husband is one of them. He hasn't been able to fly since 2001, the last flight we all took as a family. Now the FAA and Social Security have decided it is somehow illegal to be in possession of a pilots license while being on Social Security.

Let me explain how not being able to fly feels to my husband. It is like someone telling us, we can no longer knit due to health issues. He knows he can't fly, but he still cherishes his license. Now they are trying to put him in jail for something that isn't true.

I really shouldn't knit in this state of mind.

I received a very nice Hallmark e-card from my Secret Pal. It was very encouraging. The class I was in, Java, is now over, but it it isn't really. I am in the second part of this class, with a different teacher thankfully.

So maybe I really learn something this time...That's a novel idea.

Well I have finished my Cobweb shawl...You know the routine..Pictures to come.
I actually have them on the camera, really I do. I am just waiting for my husband to download them. As he has been in a lot of pain the last few days, I really haven't bothered him about it too much. He will get to it.

Java, knitting or a lack of...

I haven't been on in too long. I have spent most of my time trying to wrap my brain around Java. Its not happening. I don't think it is due to a lack of understanding, truly I don't. Just when I think, "Aha I've got it!", my instructor throws something at me that truly mystifies. I honestly think he is more of a programmer than a teacher, nothing wrong with that honestly. I just don't think he can quite understand why the majority of the class is lost.

Anyway, on to knitting news. I have been doing some knitting. Just some. I have almost finished the cobweb shawl. I am in the process of binding off the bottom edge. I have to knit when I find the time. I have even started knitting at red lights, it is truly sad. I am just thankful I have a wonderfully understanding husband. He doesn't even ask why I keep buying yarn. He just smiles and rolls his eyes. Lovely man I have.

Other than that I haven't really had much time to knit as much as I would like. I have been out shopping, or in shopping as the case is, for my Pal. Ok I was shopping for me too, but that need not be commented on.

I still have pictures that need posting.
Yea, yea I know I promised.

I sent off my first Secret Pal Gift today. I am so excited. I really hope my Pal likes what I sent. Well, if she doesn't I hope she is honest enough to tell me, so I know what not to get. I would much rather have her say, "You know that was nice, but it really wasn't me." Then suffer in silence. I don't know just me.

Anyway on to knitting news...

I have finished another bag for Christmas. Yes, I am knitting my Christmas gifts now. If I don't at least start on them now they will never get finished. Now I have another Finished Object to take a picture of. I still haven't posted the pictures from last time. I will get to them I promise. Really I will.

I received a card from my Secret Pal. I love e-cards, they are so visual. I just loved it.

On the knitting front, I have been so very busy with school. I have been trying to cram Object Oriented Programming into my brain, and my brain is locked and I have discovered I don't have the key.

Anyone know Java? Can I borrow your brain?

Anyway I have managed to finish my little ones felted clogs. They really wanted them, so mom obliged and finished them. Now my husband wants a pair. Go figure. So now I have to find some time to make daddy a pair. I have the yarn, and I have started on them, it is just finding time to finish them.

I have also finished a felted bag; a picture will be forthcoming sometime soon. I have the picture; I just need to post it. Call it lazy, call it busy, or call it tired.

Back to the grind.

I should really be ashamed, it has been too long since my last post...
Almost sounds like confession. Well I have good reason, honestly I do.
Family, homework, and work.

I have been cleaning the house, it really needed it a spring cleaning, and it isn't done.

I started a new class, Java this time, and I think I should start taking breaks, I really do. My brain is starting to feel like mush.

We moved from one area to another, clear across the building. I overdid it, I felt that move all day Friday.

So there you have it, bonefide excuses. Everyone should have some.

On the upside of a new, short, week, I have a Secret Pal!
I am so excited. I can't wait to start sending out stuff. It's like being Santa in June, July and August.

I am getting frustrated. I don't know if it is just me or if it is my brain. I am trying to program in C and I don't think I am getting it. Maybe it is just not a format for online learning. Who knows. Maybe I just need to let my brain rest. There isn't that much time for a rest though, each class is only 5 weeks long. *Sigh*, I will get it, it just takes time.

On to happier things, I got a package in the mail today. My husband tells me I have some felting material at home. Yay! I am preparing for Christmas. I think I am going to make felted soap. I am still trying to decide. I really don't have time to devote to felted animals, and I can let the kids work the soap. I think I am going to felt some bags to go with them. I think the combination will make good Christmas presents.

I am waiting for the yarn to go with the bags. I think they will be in the mail next week. I ordered it from furryarns. They don't dye it till your order it. I have some of the 2 ply in Agean, and my hands turn blue. It just tickles my boys to death to see mommy's hands change color.

Well I guess I should really go back to work, as that is what they are paying me for.

Well that is what we tell you. This is what we don't tell you, we have the occasional "low, low". This is what happens when you have a "low, low".

This is where I work. This was Monday May 9. After 20 minutes of hail, very heavy hail, accompanied by very loud thunder.

Did I mention this is California, and this was concentrated in a very small area.

Did I mention this is the Bay Area. As in Contra Costa County, not up North where they typically get snow.

Two more for the road.

I know I should post more often, life calls though. We had a hailstorm so fierce yesterday, it looked like snow. It was an awesome sight to behold. If I can get the pictures from a co-worker, who just happened to have a camera handy, I will get some pictures posted.

It is very frustrating to have 3 projects in that "almost finished stage", and I just can't find the time to get them finished.

The cobweb is almost finished. I am on the 4th repeat of 7 for the main pattern. It is very pretty. I have a camera at home, two in fact, so there is really no reason I don't have any pictures. Except the fact that when I get home from work, I am worn out, and cooking dinner, feeding family, doing homework, and going to bed ;).

Anyway, I will work on it.

I also have shawl I found, from 2 years ago, so sad. I guess I will have to finish it too.

I also have a Rose of England sampler in cotton I need to finish. Don't ask my why I did it in cotton, I had a ton of it and I needed to get rid of it. There are just no reasons behind some of the things I do. I will try for pictures later.

Well I guess I should get back to work, since it is what they are paying me for.

It has been so long

It has been quite awhile since my last post. Busy busy bee. I have been knitting. I finished a felted hat. My first felting project. I gifted it to my boss. She loved it. I have also been working on a shawl from MagKnits called cobweb by Emma Crew. I am using a Blue-Faced Leicester from Paradise Fibers in the color Herb Garden. I also have some Elliot I am considering for another Clapotis. The first was gifted, I am thinking about keeping this one. One never knows, I am not good at keeping things for myself.

Back to the daily grind, maybe I can sneak some knitting in at lunch! That would be great. Until next time.

Well I have done it again. I finished another item, and gave it away without a picture. In my exuberance, I neglected to snap the aforementioned shot. Oh well, I guess you will just have to take my word for it.

I really have no excuse as we have two cameras. One of which my husband refused to use, it doesn't like him. Now that I have a new bag, the Ultimate knitting and crochet bag, as it was on clearance, I guess I should carry one of the camera's around with me. That is a novel idea, I might just have to listen to myself on this one.

I have been so busy. School is taking a lot of my time. I haven't been able to knit as much as I would like. I am almost done with my Clapotis, but I haven't finished it yet.

I have become a yarn packrat. I love yarn...It loves me. As long as I can put it away, so it isn't in the hubby's way, it is ok. He doesn't mind, I don't mind. The boys on the other hand are always willing to give mommy a hand at knitting. They think my knitting is their knitting now. When they are a little older, I think I am going to have to show them how to knit.

I received my first shipment of handpainted yarn. It is lovely to say the least. I know I have so many projects to finish, but I want to start on something with it.

If I keep buying yarn, DH is going to string me up by it. Oh well, such is life in the pursuit of yarn bliss.

I Joined a Knit-along

Well I figured what way to invite new friends, join a knit along. I have to admit I am a perpetual lurker. I read other peoples posts and am happy to sit in the background until I really have something to say. At this point that isn't much.

Well the knit along I joined is the one for clapotis. I am excited, and a little frustrated. I made 40 rows in and had to frog. Such is life.

I decided to knit my Clapotis in something different. I am using the knit picks Wool of the Andes, in 5 different colors. We shall see how it turns out.
